Good sleep last night, but still very cold, there is frost on the window like day before. Hardly to breathe when moving around, thus have to take more times to pack the bag slowly. Mr. Lopes has done packing and went to dinning room, Sushil come after that to help packing up the stuff. Breakfast still the same, Rara noodle, have taken a lot Rara noodle here. Ever since today, every morning order a medium pot hot water, it's cheaper as compare to buy the cold and expensive bottle water. Didn't spend to much time on breakfast, departed right after the breakfast. Still have a little bit headache, walking is much better, but have to keep slow to prevent from Altitude Sickness. Island Peak can not be seen after leaving Dingboche, next time have get closer to her.... if possible....
Go straight to Chhukung as yesterday, but going to Lobuche have to climb up the slope on left, then trek to Dhugla.
At the south, from left to right, Kangtega, Thamserku, and Kongde Ri. Helicopter landing on the spot with dust and dirt being blew around. There are people being send to Kathmandu this morning, later in Lobuche, China trekker told me that there are few Malaysian being sent to Kathmandu this morning at Dingboche.
Train of Yaks hiking up to the slope, unlike 2 days ago, now have to give way because can't take over them anymore. Formation of harvested potato farmland on the valley, if didn't trek to Chhukung yesterday, will probably thought that the farmland might reach to the mountain foot of Island Peak.
27-Oct-2012 08:16am Nepal Time
At the top of the slope beside Dingboche, 5000m plus Nagartsang Peak is on the north, one can trek up for acclimatization.
On the west is the fascinating view of Taboche Peak and Cholatse.
Way to Dhugla is gently ascend all the way, but still couldn't trek as relax as Sushil.
Dingboche that lies below Ama Dablam cannot be seen now, on the right, there is Kangtega and Thamserku.
Some will choose to spend 2 nights in Dingboche when going up to EBC, and spend another night at Pheriche while coming down.
Will going to Gokyo via Cho La Pass, hence will not coming down from this way for Pheriche.

Moraines, the rocks that left by the glacier
Arrived Dhugla/Thukla, a very long prayer flags hovering the valley.
Continue to trek on a steepy slope after a short break in Dhukla, then gradually ascend to Lobuche. As the altitude gain, each step has to be slower than the follow.
Arrive Dhukla Pass, there is a Chorten on both side at the entrance-like gateway with prayer flags hovering, most will take a little rest here.

"Wed, 13 July 2005:

There will be tea.
Here's to living dreams!!

Scott Fischer, an American Mt. Everest guide, one of the victim of Everest's Worst Disaster in 1996. At the same day, a New Zealand-er Everest guide, Rob Hall also died on Everest. Rob Hall was trying to save one of his client while descend from the summit, they spent a night nearby the summit, but the client didn't make it through eventually. Rob Hall requested to make a call to his wife, at the end of the conversation, he tell his wife "Sleep well my sweetheart. Please don't worry too much", Rob Hall found died on the next morning by his assistant. Heard that there is a memorail Chorten for Rob Hall nearby Gorak Shep, may be it was not on the path where people trek through, couldn't find his Chorten there.
From the left, Pumori, Lingtren, and Khumbutse, the one on the right is Nuptse.
Almost arrived the lodge at Lobuche, but not sure where Sushil has gone.
Sushil came out from the lodge, it's exhausting today, feel the altitude sickness badly. Mr Lopes already arrive to the lodge, he is such a strong man.
Limped at the dinning room, still Rara noodle soup for the lunch, can't finsh it again. Not sure whether it is because of the altitude sickness, felt that it is extremely cold in Lobuche. After lunch, back to room to take a nap, no more energy to trek to the nearby hill for the Khumbu Glacier, neither welling to go out the take a picture on Nuptse that looks very close to Lobuche. Not sure how long been sleeping in this very very very cold room, and having a very very very bad headache. Read from others trekking log, mention that it's even worse for the altitude sickness if one staying in the airless room, so it's better to stay in the dinning room to get warm from the heater. The dinning room is crowded with trekkers, and there is no more place around the heater. Get a seat from a European couple, then trying very hard to read and understand the words on the book. This gentleman beside me is very kindhearted, he notice that I am very ill, he insisted me to share the blanket with them that he brought from his room. He gave me his flu bill even though I have told him that I have it in my room, and ask me to take it now before the flu get worse.
This couple is on their 9 months trip, where they have fly over to Nepal from China, unfortunately they are not allowed to enter Tibet as they need 5 people from same nationality to get the permit to enter Tibet, this make it even difficult as they are both from different country, so they travel in other places around China. They didn't prepared for EBC when they decided to come to Nepal, hence they don't have sleeping bad, flee jacket and others winter clothes with them, hence they will spend another night at Lobuche to see if the weather get better then they trek to Gorak Shep. The girl say she has no problem with the weather as the climate is just like where she from, Sweden. They also suggested me to stay one more day in Lobuche so that I can acclimatize before continue, but I feel better on the next day, then I continue on without spending another night in Lobuche.
Talk to some China trekkers at the same night, they told me that they met a group of Malaysia this morning, and they have hired 4 Yaks, 4 from the group have been sent down by helicopter this morning. He even want to bring me to the Malaysian group as he say the are staying just next to our lodge. It's snowing in Lobuche tonight, don't feel like going to sleep that early, instead staying in the dinning room and get well warmed beside the heater, and also have a short conversation with the guide of the China trekkers. He told me that his friend is working in Malaysia, asked him if he will go to Malaysia too, he say his friend wasn't living that good in Malaysia, so he say it's better to stay in Nepal. This guide is a Rai people, nowadays, porter and guide who work at Lukla mostly are Rai people, it is because Sherpa people are getting richer and having their own lodging business on the mountain.
Like Mr. Lopes said "Nepal is very beautiful, not just the scenery, but the people too.", Not sure whether does the "People" include those who come here for trekking, but it is graceful to met the very kindhearted European couple here, and many thanks to them, I might defeat by the cold if without the warm that they gave in Lobuche.
