Tikhedhunga (1,512 m) to Ghorepani (2,853 m)
Total time: 8 hrs

It was windy last night, but it's quite warm in the room. We've rinsed our cloth last night and hang it just outside of our room, and the cloth already dried in the morning. We woke up around 5:50am, we started our challenging day at 7:15am after the breakfast.

It's would be a challenging day

We have to climb a very steep hill today, according to our guides, it's around 3800 staircases to climb. Our 1st target is Ulleri, then we will rest and see whether we shall have our lunch at Ulleri.

Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani
Though it's cloudy, but the view is excellent
with the terrace along the way on the mountainside.

It's not that difficult as what I imagine, as long we hike slowing on this rock staircases. The flights passed by frequently, they could be the flights to Jomsom, which we will take from Jomsom to Kathmandu when we ended out trail.

Nepali Swing Ping during Dashain Tihar Festival
Wooden Swing - Ping

Passed Ulleri, while waiting for other member, we stop and rest beside this wooden swing - "Ping". Our porter take a chance to enjoy the Ping, he swing very high and we were cheering beside. We arrived Banthanti around 10:15am, and it's still early to have lunch. So, we wait until all the members arrived Banthanti and we continue to hike to next village and see what can get get over there.

Banthanti Waterfall
Beautiful stream at Banthanti

Almost 90% of the route from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani was built with flat rocks, can you imagine how they built it? We passed by few streams after Banthanti, it's refreshing even though by just hearing the sound of the flowing stream. From the picture above, a trekker just finish bathing with the chilly water. We are now in the forest rather than the exposed steep like in Ulleri, I guess we are away from Banthanti now, and we are still hiking all the way up.

Nangethanti Lunch Break
Lunch at Nangethanti
Rest and have our lunch at Nangethanti, it's around 12:50pm.
Thanti is a Nepali words meaning "rest house" "Dharmasala". In the winter the trail can be covered with snow. From Nangethanti about one hours trek, climb to Ghorepani at 2850m.
I actually begin to feel cold after sitting awhile under the shade, it's seem warm out there.

Ghorepani Lodge
Lodge at Ghorepani
We arrived our lodge at Ghorepani around 3:20pm, Mountain View Lodge. We are now at 2850 meter above sea level, it's cold here, everyone was gather around the heater at the dinning area after the hot shower. It's a hot shower that we took, but the water dripping rather than flowing out from the pipe. It's cloudy.... even though the dinning area has a big window facing the magnificent view of the snow-capped mountain range.... It rained at that evening, while we were chatting beside the heater, our guide called us to get outside of the dinning room quickly. And he pointed to clouds and said "there the snow mountain", then we get a glimpse at one of the peak for merely just a minute. I can't remember which peak it is, and that's our 1st snow-capped mountain on the mountain. Hopefully, we can have a clear day on Poon Hill tomorrow morning....
