Jomsom to Kagbeni
We're back on the trail by 1:35pm, our guide told us that the wind blowing strong in from Jomsom to Kagbeni everyday after around 12pm, so I wrap my self like this to keep warm and to avoid the duct.

The steepest trail of the day, fortunately, it only take 30 minutes to finish. Everyone "wrapping" themselves, it's like Power Rangers in different color of costume.

Harvested field below Kagbeni, black birds hovering and chirping. My friend said they're crow, but I thought he is wrong, because their chirping don't sound like the crow, and the have a red bird bill. But after came back from Nepal, I found an article online, these are mountain crow called Chough that either in Yellow or Red bill.

Arrived the tea house at 2:15pm, built with bricks, it looks a new tea house in there area. The owner of the tea house said he built this tea house with the saving he has earned while working in many countries in the pass. As you may guess, yes, Malaysia is one of the country he has been working.

Kagbeni Dragon
Wow! Look at the view outside the window, I take the bed beside the window! From here, we can see the route to Upper Mustang, our permit do not allow us to enter there. One need a special permit to enter Upper Mustang, and you need minimum 2 trekkers to apply for the permit. That's make me feel that Upper Mustang is a mysterious and yet, fascinating place to visit. Each room comes with attached bathroom, the hot shower is excellent! But the thing is they don't much room here, there are few trekkers that come later than us unable to get a room here.

Kagbeni Gateway Chorten
4:00pm, we make a tour around Kagbeni village, this is where the entrance to the village, some people call it Stupa Arch. Though it's sunny, but the wind blowing cold and dusty air.

Kagbeni Gateway Chorten
There are many Buddhist painting inside the Stupa Arch, those painted at the top called Mandala

Kagbeni Yak Donald
I'm lovin it, Yakla Yak Yak Yak! It's Yac Donald's in Kagbeni, and there is 7-11 at the back. Too weird right? You can't find them in Kathmandu but in a remote area at 2870 meters above sea level.

Kagbeni mud man with expose penis
There is a huge rammed earth building in Kagbeni, it's so old and ruined, and there are people living in it. This is sort of like the Guardian of the Entrance with a.... shiny genital.

Kagbeni Rammed Earth Building
Looks like it's gonna collapse anytime, and the wire dangling here and there, not sure does the government planning for any maintenance to protect this building.

Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery in Kagbeni
Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery in Kagbeni, built in 15 century by a monk travels from Tibet. We didn't enter the monastery, instead, we only walking around. The monks here saw there are few goats on the very tall cliff on the opposite of the river, they pointing at the cliff trying to show us where the goats are. It's not easy to find the goat as their color just like the brown cliff, eventually, we manage to spot them while they are moving with their white color legs. The monk said these mountain goats are very shy of human, not many chance to see them getting that close. There is a monk who can speak good English, we found out later that he came from India, and has been stay in Kag Chode Thupten Samphel Ling Monastery for 7 years.

Kagbeni
Viewing from the monastery, one can trace the Kali Gandaki river until the far away Upper Mustang, can you see the veil of Mysterious Kingdom of Lo?

We have a great dinner today, few of us have ordered Chicken Sizzler, the drumstick is big and juicy, how great to be a trekker nowadays? After dinner, we have a short talk with the tea house owner and our guide Binay. The owner wanted to try his homemade apple brandy, I didn't try as I am not drinking, more over, it is risky for the mountain sickness. Our leader, who already in flu has taken couple of cups. The next day of our way to Muktinath, she felt headache and puked.... Ops.... Mountain Sickness. This is why people don't recommend to take any alcohol while gaining elevation in your trek.
